I’m so over FOMO and the one contributing factor for me has been mindfulness.
To be totally honest I never feared missing out much, but always found this notion disconcerting.
I can honestly say years of sitting in quietude have given me so much peace, a powerful sense of calm, this magical ability to be in acceptance and live in surrender.
When we awaken to greater presence in our lives this idea of FOMO or Fear Of Missing Out simply dissipates. It alleviates itself. It essentially just stops giving way in our consciousness.
There is no such thing as a fear of missing out when we are with all or most of what is happening in our lives. We are with it and not absent of it or what potential lay in some forethought of tomorrow and looming hindsight of yesterday.
Awakening in this way brings life very much to the fore. We arrive in the here right now in this moment.
This greater awareness of what simply is in the now makes life full. We are aligned. Our senses are heightened. More thoughts of what is are invoked. And feelings and emotions are palpable and heavily stoked. This is the beauty of living into the now. We let go of worry and fears. Our anxieties and concerns seem to be off with the wind. We are careless to the things that don’t serve us and all we cannot control.
And we surrender to what is and that way of showing up in life offers us so much more depth and meaning.
After years of mindfulness practice I can’t imagine life any other way. I choose to be all in.
