In the vast expanse of human experience, what could be more fundamental, more achingly essential than our yearning for love?
We move through life like planets in orbit, always circling around or towards this gravitational center of connection, love.
It is a primal need to be truly seen and held in another’s understanding.
It’s so peculiar really that we spend our lives in search of something that resides so deeply within us.
Even in our quietest moments, when the world falls away and we’re left with nothing but the echo of our own heartbeats, isn’t it always love that we’re listening for, reaching for?
And I’m not just talking about romantic love, but all its infinite variations — the soft whispers of understanding between strangers, the fiercely guarded protection of a parent, the steady warmth of friendship.
The joy, delight and pleasure I get through working and co-creating, co-conversating and learning from the likes of very wise souls like Paul Zolman is putting it mildly.
All the amount of honorary words, compliments and pedestalling don’t even begin to convey the depth of gratitude I have for the work I do and the people I meet.
Paul Zolman is a Love Language Linguist.
Growing up feeling mostly neglected and not loved Paul yearned for what most humans yearn for, connection and love.
Raised in a childhood of abuse Paul explicitly lacked the very thing he craved more than anything, safety, connection and love.
Until one day Paul found love. He realized his childhood had been haunting him in the way he showed up for others decades later and he realized the language of the universe and connection is love.
Paul believes that our choice of words form the basis of all our connections. And that our primary language is love. I believe it too.
He knows through his work and living it that by spreading a message of love we awaken enormous joy and bliss into our hearts and the hearts of everyone around us.
Listen in here to this beautiful conversation about the Language Of Love.
And remember that while we may lose ourselves in a moment of something else we tend to return to our true nature, LOVE.
